Final year students at the basic school level are required to make selection of Senior High, Technical or Vocational Schools as part of the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
As a result, students and parents are expected to have a fair knowledge on the schools to enable them make selections based on their interests. Other factors that may also affect selection of schools include location, gender (boys, girls or mixed), residency (day or boarding) as well as the courses offered by the school.
It is important to note that while the Senior High Schools offer mostly liberal courses like General Arts, Science etc, the Vocational and Technical Schools offer the more practical courses like computing, electronics, ceramics, fashion etc. Students and parents are expected to factor these before making selections.
Here is a document that provides details of all the Senior High, Technical and Vocational Schools in Ghana.
