Microsoft has officially released public version of Windows 11 and it can now be downloaded and installed. One major issue with the installation of Windows 11 is the setup process demanding connection to WiFi so as to add a Microsoft account before the setup can complete the installation.
There is no button to skip the WiFi connection process. So the user has to mandatorily add a WiFi connection before proceeding.
Alt+F4 doesn’t work anymore
With the beta version that was initially leaked, the user could be able to close the WiFi connection process by pressing Alt+F4 on the keyboard. Doing that use to allow the user to add a local account to complete the installation process. This method doesn’t work anymore.
New bypass method
The new public versions of Windows 11 has a new bypass method. To bypass WiFi, follow the procedures below:
- At the “Let’s Connect You To A Network” page, press Shift+F10 on the keyboard
- The Command Prompt will open
- Type the following command and press Enter on the keyboard: taskkill /F /IM oobenetworkconnectionflow.exe
- You can now add a local account to complete the installation process.

I have tried again, it kills the network connection but the screen I get is “OOPS looks like you lost your internet connection Retry again
then I’m doing something wrong, taskkill/F/IM oobenetworkconnectionflow.exe.
Are there spaces after taskkill and /F?
Doesn’t work, f/im oobe…..
Tried and tested and it works on all our installation of Windows 11 we have done so far
