The Ghana Education Service has sent an invitation to an 8-day non-residential district level training for JHS teachers on the Common Core Programme (CCP) Curriculum.
Master trainers have been trained in all the districts nationwide. These trainers are expected to train all the JHS teachers in their Metros/Municipals/Districts.
The CCP curriculum is the newly carefully designed curriculum for JHS 1 to SHS 1 students for implementation next academic year. It consists of nine subject areas to prepare learners for post-secondary education. The CCP is made up the following subjects:
- Languages ( Ghanaian Language, French, Arabic, English)
- Career Technology
- Computing
- Creative Arts and Design
- Mathematics
- Physical Education and Health
- Religious & Moral Education
- Science
- Social Studies
The curriculum training is set to commence from Monday, 4th to Monday 11th January, 2021. The venue for the training is to be determined by the Metros/Municipals/Districts.
Update: The date for the curriculum training has been postponed. GES is yet to announce a new date for the training.
The Metros/Municipals/Districts are to submit a list of all JHS teachers to schoolsandinstructions@ges.gov.gh by close of 31st December, 2020.
Ensuring COVID-19 protocols is a very important requirement hence trainers and participants are to make the necessary steps to ensure safety during the training.
