Government of Ghana recently launched the One Teacher One Laptop initiative and began distribution of the TM1 laptops a few weeks ago. As part of the initiative, teachers will be trained in Microsoft Office Suit leading to Microsoft Office Suit Certification.
The Deputy General Secretary of the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana, Patrick Nii Sackey, revealed this while on a discussion with EducationGhana’s Ellis Ferdinan on Summer 106.9. He stated further that one of the packages of the TM1 laptop is the inclusion of a Microsoft Office 2019 Professional keys which will be used per laptop.
Patrick also stated that Microsoft has begun training of Master Trainers to help train all teachers across the country. He further indicated that the certificate issued by Microsoft can be used by teachers to improve their National Teaching Council Professional credit points to aid in renewal of licences.
