NTC opens registration for teachers via Teacher Portal

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has opened registration for in-service teachers employed in the public and private sector.

The purpose of this registration is to introduce every teacher in active service to the NTC Teacher Portal Ghana (TPG) which will serve as an online hub for all Continuous Professional Development activities and licensing. The registration will also provide NTC an updated database of all teachers in the country.

All teachers are advised to use this lockdown period to familiarize themselves with the NTC TPG web portal.

Requirements for public teachers (teachers employed by GES)

  1. An active email address. Create one if you do not have.
  2. SSNIT number
  3. Staff ID
  4. Scanned passport picture for upload (optional)
  5. Scanned evidence of professional training – Teacher Cert A, Diploma, PGDE, B. ED, M. ED, MPhil, PHD (as PDF, PNG or JPEG)
  6. Scanned first appointment letter (as PDF, PNG or JPEG)

Requirements for private teachers

  1. An active email address. Create one if you do not have.
  2. SSNIT number
  3. Scanned passport picture for upload (optional)
  4. Scanned evidence of professional training – Teacher Cert A, Diploma, PGDE, B. ED, M. ED, MPhil, PHD (as PDF, PNG or JPEG)
  5. Scanned first appointment letter (as PDF, PNG or JPEG)

How to register the NTC Portal

  1. Go to https://tpg.ntc.gov.gh/
  2. Click “Register Now” to create an account or Log in to an existing account.
  3. Select “Teacher” as account type.
  4. Fill in your details and submit.
  5. Check your email for a confirmation link from NTC TPG. Note that if you do not see the email link in your inbox, please check your spam or junk folder in your email account.
  6. Follow instructions in the confirmation link to complete registration.
  7. Once you are done with the registration, complete your profile by submitting your accurate data.

Update

Public Teachers are required to update their profile with their rank and upload a proof of rank document as well as a first professional qualification.

The proof of rank could be either your payslip that shows your correct rank or a promotion/upgrading letter.

The first professional qualification is the certificate of entry into the teaching profession. E.g DBE or B.Ed
